At the end of the course the students should be:
- familiar with the basic syntax of the language
- able to give a declarative reading for many Prolog programs
- able to give a corresponding procedural reading
- able to apply the fundamental programming techniques
- familiar with the idea of program as data
- able to use the facilities provided by a standard trace package
to debug programs
- familiar with the fundamental ideas of the predicate calculus
- familiar with the fundamental ideas specific to how Prolog works
