Wireless networking is driving the ongoing industrial and social revolution due to its tremendous advantages in terms of cost reduction, easy installation/maintenance, and support of mobility. However, reliability and real-timeliness of the wireless communication are the major concerns that hamper the wide deployment of wireless technologies in some industrial applications. In this talk I will present our recent work on scheduling delay-constrained traffic in single-hop wireless industrial networks. The preliminary research outcomes not only provide some deep insight into the complexity of transmission scheduling problems, but also can be directly applied in a variety of application scenarios.
