Brian Wyvill (GraphicsJungle lab. University of Calgary)
Over the last decade Implicit Surface techniques have become popular
as a modelling tool.
Several commercial packages include the "mata-ball editor" and some
significant models
have been built using this technique. In this talk, the current problems
are explored, and
a look at some possible solutions. Iso-surface models composed of blending,
CSG and
warp operations are described along with methods for polygonization,
texturing and
animation using the BlobTree software, developed at the GraphicsJungle
lab. One
interface to this software, is via the Python language. This interface
will be described
and demonstrated.
