Abstract: As part of the extended farewell celebrations that usher in Professor
Brian Cox's retirement as HOD, Computer Science, we have invited a distinguished
past student to share some of his experiences of life after graduating. Michael
Macknight is remembered for one of the most successful third-year projects of all
time, which led to the founding of a flourishing company, Analog Digital
Instruments.

He writes: "I will talk about what ADInstruments does and how we do it and some of
the pitfalls and things to think about when you are running a software company."
