Abstract:
Several papers have considered the problem of routing in ad-hoc mobile
wireless networks using the positions of the mobile hosts. However,
the protocols proposed so far are likely to fail if the transmission ranges
of the mobile hosts vary due to natural or man-made obstacles. We describe
a robust routing protocol, a variant of the so called the perimeter routing,
that tolerates up to 40% of variation in the transmission ranges of the
mobile hosts. Several open problems in this area are mentioned.
