This week Andrew will discuss his recent work into the validity of XML Element Retrieval. He will briefly discuss information retrieval (IR), XML-Retrieval, and XML Element Retrieval, and will suggest that the latter is a really good idea. He will then discuss IR experiments and how they are conducted before discussing new evidence for and against the validity XML Element Retrieval as a mechanism for delivering focused results to a user.
