Grid computing provides a way to share computation power and data resources efficiently. In China, we have built a Bioinformatics Grid which connects more than 10 super-computers from 7 top universities. The aggregated peak performance of this grid system is 2 Tflops with 5TB storage. Nearly 60 bioinformatics software are pre-installed in the Grid system. Biologists in China are using this grid system actively. The grid system gets 50,000 request per day now.
