"Collaborative Virtual Environments (CVE) are shared artificial spaceswhere distant participants can meet virtually and work with othersconnected through networked computers. In this seminar, the results oftwo recent user studies are presented that compare regular videoconferencing tools with prototypes which integrate the videos of remotepeople into the spatial context of a CVE. Opportunities involved as wellas the design challenges posed by this novel type of telecommunicationare discussed."
