"Collaborative Virtual Environments (CVE) are shared artificial spaces where distant participants can meet virtually and work with others connected through networked computers. In this seminar, the results of two recent user studies are presented that compare regular video conferencing tools with prototypes which integrate the videos of remote people into the spatial context of a CVE. Opportunities involved as well as the design challenges posed by this novel type of telecommunication are discussed."
