Health care - moving to a consumer-centred model: information access, generating and sharing

Abstract:

The healthcare industry is changing due to the amount of health information on-line and the advent of health 2.0, mobile and home monitoring health technologies. More and more people are generating and sharing health information. Patients are taking ownership and control of their health records. They want to know about other patients similar to them, what the clinical guidelines are for their conditions, information on their medication and possible adverse reactions.
