I came to University of Otago to do my PhD in 2007, a few years after completing my BSc in Computer Science at Vilnius University, Lithuania. My doctoral research focused on Pattern Classification in the context of Computer Vision, and after receiving the degree in 2011 I am continuing work on Object Detection and Tracking as a postdoctoral fellow. My research interests include Support Vector Machines and other kernel methods, efficient classifier cascades, learning from large datasets, particle filters and other neat Machine Learning techniques.
