Contents of lectures
- basic background from molecular biology providing context for algorithms of
- sequence processing: exact string search, global and local alignments, motif discovery, hidden Markov models
- inference of phylogenetic trees: cost based methods, clustering methods
- microarrays data analysis: gene selection, classification, ontology
- gene regulatory networks: continuous models, discrete models
The labs in this course are very important part and serve a variety of purposes:
- to practice and reinforce material delivered in the lectures,
- to introduce some material peripheral to the main body of the course, which will help you in understanding it,
- to do programming work helpful for the assignments.
