Conference Venue

IVCNZ 2012 will be held at University College, in the heart of the University of Otago campus. University College is located on Leith St, behind the historic Registry (Clocktower) and Geology buildings. Note that University College is locally known as 'UniCol', which might help if asking for directions (particularly on campus).

The University is located near to the central business district. It is just 10-15 minutes' walk to the start of the main shopping area on George St, and 20-25 minutes' walk to the Octagon. A wide range of restaurants and bars can be found along George St and around the Octagon.

There is limited parking near University College. If you are arriving by car, head down Albany St and turn left on to Clyde St. There is some parking on Clyde Street, or if you are being dropped off you can turn left up Union St East to the main entrance.

Dunedin Airport is located about 30 minutes' drive south of the city centre. Shuttles and taxis operate between the airport and the city. A taxi will cost approximately $90, and shuttles are more economical at around $30. Group bookings on shuttles can reduce this cost. Taxi and shuttle drivers should be familiar with the location of University College.

Several bus routes run close to University College. Bus routes 4, 37, 59, 61, 63, and 66 all have stops within a few minutes' walk. These buses head north along George St and down Albany St, and usually advertise 'University' as a destination on their signage. Buses heading from town to the University will be travelling north along the west side of George St. Many other routes run along George St, and you can walk down Union St and through campus to the college. Note that many bus services stop in the early evening, or become less frequent, so walking or a taxi may be more convenient later at night.

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held on Tuesday 27th at Filadelfio's Restaurant, located at 3 North Road. Buses will pick delegates up from University College at 6pm, and will take a tour of the city, arriving at the restaurant around 7pm. Buses will return from the restaurant to University College around 10pm.

• 10th September 2012 - Deadline for submissions (5-6 pages) for review.
• 15th October 2012 - Notification of acceptance.
• 29th October 2012 - Final papers due.
• 26th-28th November - Conference dates.
