Social ProgrammeSunday 18th January 2004 - Welcome ReceptionThe welcome reception will be held in the Information Services Building, located on campus. There will be drinks and light refreshments served. Music provided by a string quartet.
* Please note that the above information is tentative and currently serves to help attendees with their travelling schedules. For those on Sunday flights to Dunedin keep in mind that it will take perhaps an hour after arrival to travel into Dunedin city, check into accommodation and get to the Information Services Building. The last known flights into Dunedin on Sunday are 6.35pm, 7.45pm and 8.00pm. Monday 19th January - Drinks on Microsoft and Pearson Education at the Speights Ale HouseJoin MicrosoftResearch Asia/University Relations, Microsoft Australia and Pearson Education New Zealand Monday night for an evening of drinks and finger-foods at the Speights Ale House. Located on the historic site of the Speights Brewery in Rattray Street, the Speights Ale House provides a fine example of southern charm and hospitality. During the evening we'll be offering tours of the Speights heritage brewery (tour places are limited, so may be subject to demand), and you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy some of the deep south's favourite beers! This is a completely free event, courtesy of Microsoft and Pearson, and is open to all registered attendees of ACSW2004. Don't forget to bring your conference ID, though - you'll need it to get served at the bar. See you there! WHERE: Speights Ale House, 200 Rattray Street, Dunedin. WHEN: Monday 19th January, 7.00pm (follows the 5.30pm Microsoft presentation Monday evening). GETTING THERE: Shuttle buses from the conference venue to the Speights Ale House will operate continuously from 6.30 to 7.30pm. Busses will leave from outside the conference centre on Albany Street at approximately 10-15 minute intervals. If you prefer, you can walk from the conference venue to the Ale House in around 20 minutes.
Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st January 2004 - Conference DinnerThe Conference Dinner will be held at Larnach Castle. Due to larger than expected numbers registered for ACSW, the Conference dinner will be split over two evenings. Attendees will need to check the date on their dinner tickets upon receiving their registration packs. There will be an exchange system at the help desk (in the Castle complex foyer) for those wishing to swap dates.
